What is opLabBox 2.0?
opLabBox 2.0 is a broadband ultrasonic pulser and receiver from PBP OPTEL for laboratory, industrial and automated ultrasonic measurement systems.
opLabBox 2.0 is a broadband ultrasonic pulser and receiver developed by PBP OPTEL for laboratory measurements, industrial ultrasonic applications and custom test systems. It combines a low-noise wideband receiver, separately switchable high-pass and low-pass filters, programmable gain, an integrated high-voltage step pulser and a graphical user interface in one compact instrument.
It can operate as a self-contained scope adapter or as an analogue front-end / expansion unit for other signal-processing equipment. Together with OPTEL opCard or opBox electronics, it can be used to build a complete ultrasonic measurement system with hardware and software support.

Material characterization, transducer testing, acoustic experiments and development work requiring adjustable gain and filtering.
Pulse-echo and through-transmission measurements for inspection, process development and test fixtures.
Remote USB/ASCII control for automatic measurement setups and integration with opCard, opBox, oscilloscopes or other acquisition equipment.
opLabBox 1.2 is an earlier generation of the OPTEL laboratory pulser/receiver family. Its documentation remains useful for existing installations and compatibility checks. For a new project, opLabBox 2.0 is the current product described on this page.
In addition to opLabBox 2.0, OPTEL can supply selected legacy or application-specific pulser/receiver solutions on special order. Availability and configuration should be confirmed for each project.
opLabBox 2.0 is a broadband ultrasonic pulser and receiver from PBP OPTEL for laboratory, industrial and automated ultrasonic measurement systems.
The documented analogue receiver bandwidth is 40 kHz to 25 MHz (−3 dB), with separately switchable high-pass and low-pass filters.
The integrated step pulser is continuously adjustable from 0 to 360 V, with a documented falling-edge time below 40 ns.
The documented total analogue gain range is 104 dB. The regulated range is −10 to +70 dB in 0.1 dB steps, with an additional switchable +0 or +24 dB post-amplifier.
Yes. Remote control uses USB as a virtual RS-232 COM port with an ASCII protocol, allowing integration into automatic measurement setups.
Yes. The device is intended for classic ultrasonic applications with one or two transducers, including pulse-echo and through-transmission arrangements.
Selected OPGUD and OPNEM pulser/receiver products can be supplied on special order. Their exact configuration and availability should be confirmed with OPTEL.
OPTEL can evaluate the transducer, frequency range, pulser voltage, gain, filtering, automation and software requirements and prepare a customer-specific hardware or system configuration.
