opMux 3.0 Multi-Channel Ultrasonic Multiplexer

opMux 3.0 is a configurable multi-channel ultrasonic pulser/receiver and switching platform for automated NDT, laboratory and OEM measurement systems.

Channels have dedicated pulser and receiver paths, while the controller selects the transmitting and receiving channels for each measurement. This supports repeated probe sequences, pulse-echo arrangements and transmission measurements without manually reconnecting transducers.

Channel sequencing

A measurement sequence can select different transmitting and receiving channels from one step to the next. That makes opMux suitable for multi-probe inspection stations and automated measurement routines.

Frequently asked questions

What is opMux 3.0?

opMux 3.0 is a multi-channel ultrasonic unit in which channels have dedicated pulser and receiver paths, allowing a control system to select transmitting and receiving channels for automated ultrasonic measurements.

How many channels are available in opMux 3.0?

The current product family includes configurations from 4 to 35 channels, including 4, 8, 11, 12, 16, 19, 32 and 35 channel versions.

Can opMux transmit and receive on different channels?

Yes. Only one transmitter is active at a time, but the selected receiving channel can be different from the transmitting channel, supporting pulse-echo and transmission-style system architectures.

What pulse settings are available?

The published opMux 3.0 technical data specifies pulse amplitude from 0 to 400 V, load dependent, and pulse length from 0.1 to 6.3 microseconds in 0.1 microsecond steps.

What transducer frequencies can opMux 3.0 work with?

OPTEL describes the family for ultrasonic transducers with resonant frequencies up to 25 MHz; the published transmitter technical table specifies a 0.5–20 MHz operating range. Final suitability should be verified for the selected transducer and load.
