opCard 3.0 PCI Express Ultrasonic Data Acquisition Card

opCard 3.0 is a PC-based ultrasonic acquisition and flaw-detection platform developed by PBP OPTEL for industrial NDT, automated scanners, research and OEM systems. It combines a high-voltage pulser, low-noise receiver, programmable gain and analogue filtering, 12-bit A/D conversion, hardware triggering and deterministic acquisition features on one PCI Express card.

Use it for pulse-echo or through-transmission measurements, time-of-flight evaluation, material characterization, thickness and defect inspection, and custom automated ultrasonic systems.

opCard 2.2 — available on special order

opCard 2.2 is an earlier PCI-generation ultrasonic testing and data-acquisition card from PBP OPTEL. Although opCard 3.0 is the current PCI Express platform, opCard 2.2 can still be supplied on special order for existing installations, replacement requirements, compatibility with legacy systems and selected customer-specific integrations.

If your machine or software was designed around opCard 2.2, contact OPTEL with the existing hardware revision, firmware/software environment and required configuration so availability and compatibility can be confirmed.

Typical applications

Ultrasonic NDT

Defect detection, weld and component inspection, wall-thickness measurements and ultrasonic material characterization.

Automated scanning

Hardware trigger and encoder workflows for repeatable raster scans, C-scans, B-scans and high-throughput acquisition.

OEM systems

SDK-controlled acquisition for integration into custom machines, multiplexed systems, research setups and industrial automation.

Frequently asked questions

What is opCard 3.0?

opCard 3.0 is a PCI Express ultrasonic data-acquisition and flaw-detection card developed by PBP OPTEL for PC-based NDT, research, scanning and OEM systems.

What is the sampling frequency of opCard 3.0?

The current documented standard sampling settings extend up to 100 MHz, with lower selectable rates available for longer measurement windows or reduced data volume.

Does opCard 3.0 support pulse-echo and through-transmission?

Yes. The platform supports pulse-echo operation with one transducer and through-transmission with separate transmitting and receiving transducers.

What PRF can opCard 3.0 achieve?

With the internal pulser, the documented minimum hold-off corresponds to 20 kHz. Rates up to 100 kHz can be possible with an external pulser and reduced data load, subject to frame size, transfer bandwidth and overrun validation.

Can opCard 3.0 be integrated with scanners and multiplexers?

Yes. Hardware triggering, digital I/O, encoder support and programmable acquisition sequences are intended for integration with scanners, multiplexers, PLC-controlled equipment and automated inspection systems.

Is the older opCard 2.2 still available?

Yes. opCard 2.2 is an earlier PCI-generation OPTEL ultrasonic testing card and remains available on special order for legacy systems, replacement needs and selected customer-specific integrations.
